School Pets

Article written by Mrs Richardson's P7 group.
At Academy Primary School we have two school rabbits. They are so cute and fluffy. They are called Wispa and Caramel. Caramel is the blonde one and Wispa is the black one.
We got Wispa and Caramel in May 2025. We fundraised money for the rabbits food and care. We could pay a pound to try and guess the rabbits' names. Caramel and Wispa stay in the courtyard next to the school hall and Mrs Donnelly's room. School members can take the rabbits home for weekends and holidays to look after them.
The rabbits have a fun life, they play, eat and sleep. They also like to go on adventures, they are rascals! Wispa loves to dig and go under the sheds. Caramel is more shy and timid. They are both very fast. It is fun to watch them, they love to be with each other and play together. Each class has a day to clean and feed the rabbits, to make sure they are well cared for.
We interviewed Mrs Ewart's class about the rabbits. We asked them to vote for a favourite, it was a pretty even result. They told us things like "they like to nibble" and "they are mischievous". They also said "they like to snuggle and eat carrots." P3 really like having the rabbits as school pets.
We love having Wispa and Caramel as part of our school family.
